Make This an Amazing Year

I know it’s a cliche but Happy New Year. Really. I hope you have your most amazing year yet.
Here’s how to make this year amazing. Write down (or video) what you want this year. My preference is written, not typed, as it uses a different part of the brain. But however you do it, consciously recording what you want is extremely powerful.
Check it out: (From a Harvard experiment done on a group of MBA students) The 13 percent of the class who had goals were earning, on average, twice as much as the 84 percent who had no goals at all. And what about the three percent who had clear, written goals? They were earning, on average, ten times as much as the other 97 percent put together. (From – http://www.lifemastering.com/en/harvard_school.html)
It really works. Spa Tech Institute is the result. Try it. What do you have to lose but an hour? I like to spend at least a day on yearly goals. I also revisit them throughout the year.
By setting your goals and writing them down, you are wiring your brain and attention to identify the things that move you towards your goals. It’s like when you’re thinking of buying a new car, and particularly if you know what you want to buy, you suddenly start seeing them everywhere you go. Or you buy a new coat and suddenly see other people that have the same coat.
If you really want to make this an amazing year, make your first goal to set weekly goals for the month of January. Take 10 minutes and just make a list of goals for the coming week. If you do this just for January you can see if it works for you.
Simple Instructions
- Make it fun and easy. Don’t try and build Rome in a day.
- It can be a list or a narrative (i.e. This week I want to write my yearly goals, call my friend in Boston to go out to dinner, pick up my….etc.)
- A consistent place to record it makes it more fun because then you can see what you have accomplished from the prior week. (I like to highlight with a green marker when it’s done. I do this so I can see it is done and I can still read what it was. Seeing all of the green makes me happy and motivated to do more. Pick you favorite color.)
- If you wrote down your long term goals, quickly review them before you write down your weekly goals.
- Don’t be afraid to change them. If a goal changes, that’s good. It means you are getting clearer about what you really want. I highlight those in orange so I can see what it was and I know it changed.
- Celebrate every time you complete, add or change a goal.
By following these simple steps you will accomplish more and feel more relaxed and in control of your life.
I look forward to your feedback and questions.
Sincerely,
Kris Stecker

to help people live they’re best life. The information
& advice I am grateful to receive. Happy New Year!!
Kris — This is a wonderful reminder of the power of written goal setting. Thank you for being generous enough to share it with all of us, to give us that little extra push to get us back into the driver’s seat in our lives and our businesses!

Great inspirational message Kris. I have done this in the past and love looking at the tattered pieces of paper and seeing how much I have accomplished.
First on my list this year is finding creative ways to pay for the Massage course in Westbrook starting in March.
Big Love,
Vincent
Kris, Thankyou for the advice. I do write goals, in fact I had one set for today and just finished accomplishing it. My goal was to complete one part of my salon books for my taxes so that by January 13th, I will be done. I want to then focus on completing the Polarity program at Spa Tech Institute in Westboro. Now I’m off to relax for the evening. Have a great weekend and Happy New Year to you and your family. Blessings, Priscilla
Good work Priscilla. This is why you are successful. The polarity community will benefit from your strength and determination. I look forward to referring people to you in the future.
One creative way that a prior student did was to do a private offering where people she knew invested in her education which was then paid back in sessions over time. The other part is to practice the 3 foot rule: Tell everyone who comes within 3 feet of you what you want to create in your future and the help you are lookng for from the universe. Only by putting it out into the universe with clarity can it set up the beacon to attract what you need. I’m sure you will make it happen.
It’s a pleasure to be of help. Have a great year.
Kris,
Goals are the coals that keep passion aflame. Written goals are key in making the future a reality.
Great subject matter for the beginning of a New Year but it is never too late to start.
2009 is THE year!

Pat Z.
Thank you Kris!
The support, encouragement, and fresh advice you share really do help! I like the green highlighter idea. 2009 is gonna be great, I just know it.

Hi Kris,
I have spent the better part of the day participating in this exercise and really thinking about what I want to accomplish and build upon this year.
I really like your suggestion of writing down weekly as well as annual goals. I can see how this will help me achieve things that may seem somewhat distant to me now, but achievable if I just take “one bite out of the elephant at a time.” (As you know I like to set pretty hefty goals for myself)
Thank you again for all of the guidance and knowledge that I gained from you in ’08… I am looking forward to an amazing 2009!
Best regards-

Writing down your goals helps to indentify what you want and there is a universal law that states “If you know what you want you can have it”
