Seize the Day: Use the Solstice

Solstice actually means “sun standing still” or the time when the apparent movement of the sun lower or higher in the sky does not change. But more importantly, it is a major shifting point; a point where the length of the days increase or decrease. This happens around December and June 21st every year. You can check the exact dates and times here.
The Winter Solstice is a particularly powerful time to focus your energy on what you want to manifest in your future. This is when your next cycle of birth and growth begins. It is the culmination of the inner cycle of harvest and accumulation of energy and the beginning of generating what you want to create.
It’s like the launch of a rocket when it’s on the launch pad, full of fuel and ready to ignite and rise to the heavens. What happens in the first few minutes of the launch are the most important to the success of the mission. That time is now. How you start this cycle of manifestation sets the pattern for the next 6 months as well as the results that you harvest after June 21st during the inward cycle of harvest and accumulation of energy again.
To put this to work in your life, focusing on your mission, vision and goals at this time is very important. Focusing now is exponentially more powerful in manifesting what you want than waiting until January 1st when things are already in motion. The reason is simple: It’s easier to get on a rocket when it is standing still than after it has launched.
So do it now. Use the energy of the day to create what you want. Write it down, make a treasure map and give it as much time as you possibly can. I know that can be challenging with all of the holiday activity. But every moment that you can devote to focusing on the future you want to create will put significant energy towards the creation of a positive outcome.

Let me get the ball rolling with my vision.
This year we have tremendous opportunity to create more healing in the world. With enactment of a new healthcare plan, people are going to discover that selfcare is more important than ever. I want Spa Tech Institute to be on the forefront of training even more people in understanding the link between energy, healing and prosperity.
This year I want to develop a new program to make the education at http://spatech.edu even more affordable for students by expanding the scholarship program http://www.spatech.edu/owners-scholarship-award.html and finding additional sources for grants. I also want to increase the support for our graduates to be even more successful by offering the advanced business and marketing skills classes in January http://www.spatech.edu/digital-mastery-ceu.html and offering ARYSE at least 6 times in the coming year.
Other areas are to continue to upgrade the quality of the education with additional online education support and better utilization of the facilities.
I also want to find ways to reduce the schools carbon footprint as well as help salons and spas to find more ecological and prosperous ways to run their businesses.
I also want to take my health to the next level by increasing my exercise time with more time in the garden, hiking and sailing.
I plan on being the best student I can be for the massage program I am in (starting deep tissue next!).
I also plan on being the best father and husband to my family.
And finaly I plan on taking my kids outside even more in the summer on hikes and daytrips.

Thanks Kris for reminding us to take the time to reflect and to turn our thoughts to a new year and new possibilities. It’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day that I know I need to be reminded to just sit and breathe and bring myself more in to the present. My goals for the coming days, weeks and months are to focus on building my business, client retention and perfecting my craft through education. I want to share my positive energy with those around me and allow my clients the most relaxing experience they can get in a salon. The opportunity to just sit in my chair and just be. We are all so hectic nowadays I think people have lost the art of unplugging so that’s the goal and the gift I want to give to my clients. By doing that, I believe the rest will follow.

Thanks for putting yourself out there on this, it’s a kind thing you’ve done.
Here’s what I did earlier today for Enrollment Resources. I took everything in my head and put it on the wall! I got 4 by 6 inch recipe cards and felt pens and wall gum. i broke the wall up into four themes; admin, lead generation, lead conversion to our free one hour session and product offerings…I just slapped up all the ideas and things that have been rattling around in my noggin’ and filled up the wall in my office with idea cards.
i then, sent and e-mail to Shane and all our staff and invited them to come to my office to have a look at ‘whats been in Greggs head’, inviting them to comment, add, alter. hopefully they’re not too scared
